Pura Vida Ride is located on the beach at Las Catalinas, Costa Rica. Las Catalinas maintains 40 km of world-class coastal single-track mountain bike trails with scenic ocean views that will astound you. These trails have been under construction since 2010 and each year the trail system expands and matures. Our trails are an average of 3-4 feet wide and are built to largely comply with IMBA trail design standards.
Our Trails
The trails are immaculately maintained, varied and appeal to most levels of mountain biking experience with fast downhills, challenging uphills, all on beautiful single track. The terrain and vistas change dramatically over the course of your ride; dramatic ocean vistas, tropical forest shade, overgrown valleys, and some heart thumping climbs!
The trail system is accessible out the back door of Pura Vida Ride. Our amazing staff will set you up on your ride, give you a trail map, and send you off on your adventure. You can also ride with one of our experienced guides. If you prefer riding with clipless pedals, we'll throw SPD or Crankbrother pedals on the bike of your choice at no extra charge.
In addition to the Las Catalinas trails, the surrounding area offers varied rides that can be tailored to your experience.
Our fully equipped bike shop has all the service, experience, and parts necessary to keep bikes in top shape. Tires, tubes, chains, gloves, helmets, and Camelbaks are just some of the supplies and accessories we offer in stock.
1.5 Hour Mountain Bike Ride On Las Catalinas Single Track Trails
Explore about 12 km of single track trail starting steps away from Pura Vida Ride. We’ll deck you out with a helmet and a hard tail mountain bike, from our high end inventory and show you some of the most majestic views from single track coastal trails in all of Costa Rica. This ride lasts approximately 1.5 hours.

2.5 Hour Mountain Bike Ride On Las Catalinas Single Track Trails
For the more experienced riders, explore about 25 km of single track trail at Las Catalinas. We’ll deck you out with a helmet and a hard tail mountain bike, from our high end inventory and show you some of the most majestic views from single track coastal trails in all of Costa Rica. This ride lasts approximately 2.5 hours.
$110/person 2 or more. $145/person single. (Full suspension bike is an extra $45)
Old School Guanacaste Full Day Ride
From our backyard at Pura Vida Ride, take a ride 100 years back in time on our Old School Guanacaste Adventure! Experience architecture, towns, and scenery that few get to see on their travels. Climb high passes followed by technical single track, leisurely country roads, amazing waterfalls with swimming holes, lots of exciting river crossings and more! We’ll see majestic Guanacaste trees and strangler figs, Pochotes, and other local tree species. This trip lasts 5-7 hours and is for advanced riders.
